Job Description

Position Overview:  The Campus Security Officer – EMT/MFR is responsible for the safety and security of the residents, visitors, employees, and facilities. Require State licensing/certification.

 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities: include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Daily rounds of the building and grounds.
  2. Continuous patrols of property and facilities.
  3. Staffs guardhouse to ensure the logging of visitors, residents and employees.
  4. Directs traffic on campus property.
  5. Completes Daily Rounds Reports.
  6. Completes Incident Reports (regarding medical response calls, theft of property, accidents, fires, serious mechanical malfunctions, emergency response, and violations of rules and regulations).
  7. Responds to medical emergencies.
  8. Performs additional duties as assigned by Management to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the Community.

Ability to implement plans formulated by Campus Safety/Emergency Services Manager .  Ability to write written reports in a clear, concise manner with good grammar and spelling.  Excellent communication skills (oral and written).  Ability to work with computer systems.

 

Education and/or Experience:  High School Diploma or GED.  One to three years customer service experience.  Become a state-certified first responder within one year of starting date.

Language Skills:

 

License, Certificates, Registration:  Must be able to attend, be tested on, and maintain certifications including, but not limited to: Medical First Responder and CPR within the first year of employment.  These certifications must be maintained as a condition of employment and may require State Licensing/Certification.  Requires current and valid state driver’s license.
